Penman's Biography
Page 2

Arriving in Colorado in the early 1970's meant that
John Denver records were playing
in the home all the time. Gary would spend hours
playing Denver's songs about Colorado.

The Blehm family quickly adjusts to Colorado living.
This was a backpacking trip to hunt
for arrowheads. Gary's older brother is wearing
a leather hat from a company in
Aspen that made the same hat that John Denver
wore on the cover of his greatest hits album.

While Gary first began drawing PENMEN® in 1977,
he only has drawings going back as far as 1980.

New to Colorado the Blehm family didn't
have a Jeep yet, but the VW got them there.

Camping near Durango with family dog, Scooby.

Gary's dad throws a peace sign at the Colorado National Monument
in Grand Junction with a hat covered in fishing flies.

Gary's mom throws a peace sign over to dad while hiking with
Gary and his brothers at the Maroon Bells near Aspen.

Family friends gather in the mountains with some guitar music.
That's not John Denver on the guitar, sad to say.

\The Blehm family is ready to move to a ranch in the
mountains near Glenwood Springs.
